Who will save the Bronx chickens? 60-something-year-old Raymond Lopez inherited the flock when their original owner abandoned them. Lopez believes he's now taking care of around 75 chickens, spending almost $200 on food for them each month. And allegedly sanitation workers and cops bring him strays to add to his feathered family! He told the Daily News that he wants to release them "to somebody who takes care of the chickens, not kills them."

The ASPCA says that by law they would have to seize the chickens and test them for disease; any chicken testing positive for a disease would be "destroyed." Meanwhile, the Farm Sanctuary says, "We're inundated with roosters right now. People just don't want them. They're very loud. They fight."

Lopez's coworker says: "We love them, but they're not comfortable here." Awww.
