Is it time to start pitying Donald Trump?* He was kicked around at the White House Correspondents Dinner, his show was interrupted by the President's Bin Laden announcement, he backed out of driving the pace car at the Indianapolis 500—and now a new poll suggests that New Yorkers don't even appreciate him. And after all the affordable housing and greenspaces bloated, gaudy monstrosities he's given us!
In a Marist poll that may briefly restore your view of humanity, 75 percent of New York voters "do not want Trump to lead the country," NY1 reports. Even 66 percent of Republicans don't feel that Trump should get the nomination nod. New Jersey governor Chris Christie and Mayor Bloomberg fare slightly better with 60 percent and 57 percent of Republicans disapproving of their respective candidacies. Only Mayor of 9/11, Rudolph Giuliani seems to have captured the hearts of New York Republicans, with 48 percent disapproving.
Even former New Yorker Colin Powell piled on, telling students in South Carolina that he was tickled that Barry's Bin Laden news kicked Trump out of the news cycle. Will this finally pop Donald's White House bubble? Probably not! But more important question: can polls like this somehow make the May 22 finale of Celebrity Apprentice somehow irrelevant??
*No, no it is not.
