The BMW-obsessed ex-con who was suspected of beating a man for his BMW, not to mention stuffing him in the trunk of the car, was killed today in Florida during a wild shootout with U.S. Marshalls.

Barion A. Blake, who had done time for at least two other BMW-related crimes, had been on the run for the last few weeks since attacking Akeem Ajimotokan, and was tracked to Jacksonville, Florida. According to the Post, Blake pulled out a gun and began firing before he was killed in the shootout. Blake, who was the nephew of NYPD counterterrorism division Deputy Chief Michael Blake, had pretended to be a prospective buyer of Ajimotokan's BMW in late-January; Ajimotokan, who was found beaten badly with his ear nearly torn off, is reported to be in stable condition now.
