"Hope" NYC By Mike Bloomberg
"Hope" is the thing with feathers
That makes our City soar
It will take us to the future
As it's carried us beforeHope is the thing with feathers
That travels all our streets
It sings in every language
It sometimes even tweetsAnd though we may not see it
It perches everywhere
In new shops and small businesses
In every schoolroom chairIt could be our famous pigeon
Or fabled red-tailed hawk
Hope is the thing with feathers
That flies throughout New YAWK
Doesn't that last ABCB just bring tears to your eyes? Bloomberg will be retweeting his favorite Twitter poems, and the winners will be published in tomorrow's Metro New York. Public schools and after-school programs will also be hosting poetry readings and workshops across the city. Not like the Mayor would even need one...
