As if the Giants didn’t have enough to worry about heading into their Super Bowl matchup with the Patriots, the flu bug is going around the team. (Note: stop eating now) Aaron Ross was so sick yesterday that the Giants’ charter flight was delayed an hour to clean up the mess. The New York training staff has been giving the players every type of preventative medicine they can come up with to ward off the flu and hopefully having all the players together on a plane will not have an adverse affect.
Despite the flu, the Giants remain confident heading into Sunday. Plaxico Burress predicted a New York victory even providing the final score (23-17). Michael Strahan simply said, “History will be ours.” The team dressed mostly in black as a sign of unity and will face the throngs of the assembled press today at Media Day. Some interesting tidbits are sure to come out today, but we already know that Eli Manning is a “mama’s boy” and had some trouble with reading growing up.
And if you were ever doubtful of Tom Brady playing, he participated in all phases of practices, but may have had a slight limp. His injured ankle was heavily taped.
