There's a lot of ways you can disappoint your mother: tweeting racist bullshit, evicting her on her birthday, insisting she only communicate with you over Twitter. But it's hard to top robbing and beating the poor woman who gave you life: according to SILive, 21-year-old Jonathan Mitchell and his 22-year-old girlfriend Lauren Cavallo impersonated cops, beat up Mitchell's 55-year-old mother Larraine Merced, then robbed her of $400. "He's stolen from me before, but I never thought he'd do something like this," Merced said of her son.

The incident took place around 9 p.m. on Monday at Merced's New Dorp apartment—Mitchell and Cavallo allegedly pretended to be police to get inside, yelling, "Police! Open up the door! If you don't open the door, we will take the door down!" Cops say that Cavallo then attacked the mom, punching her in the face and stomach, bruising her and splitting her lip. The two took Merced's pocketbook, stealing $400 in cash and a bank debit card.

Mitchell and Cavallo didn't get very far—they were arrested by 9:40 p.m. that night. Both gave statements to police: "It's my money. It's my mom's money. I hold it because she loses everything," said Mitchell, according to SILive's sources. "I was there. I wanted to talk to my mother but she wouldn't talk to me." Cavallo took full responsibility for the robbery: "I admit to doing everything. He didn't do anything."

Both have been charged with second-degree robbery, second- and third-degree assault, second-degree criminal impersonation and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. No word on whether Mitchell will be charged with first degree YOU'RE KILLING YOUR MOTHER STOP IT ALREADY.
