Police said they found a baby girl abandoned on subway stairs at Penn Station in Manhattan on Monday morning, and the child was rushed to the hospital in stable condition.
Officers discovered the infant conscious, alert and wrapped in a blanket near the platform for the 1, 2 and 3 trains at 34th Street around 9:30 a.m., according to NYPD officials.
Emergency medical workers brought the girl to Bellevue Hospital, police said.
The NYPD said Tuesday that a woman entered the station around 9 a.m. Monday, left the baby and fled on foot. They released surveillance footage of the woman as they continued to investigate why the child was abandoned.

No arrests have been made in the case.
