The NYPD is asking the public to help identify an infant who was found abandoned in Sunset Park yesterday afternoon. Here's a picture of the adorable baby!
According to the police, around 2 p.m., they responded to a 911 call on 62nd Street. The police officers found a male infant, perhaps two or three months old, in a car seat in the building's foyer. EMS brought he baby to Lutheran Hospital, where is his in stable condition.
According to the Post, a woman who was taking out the trash spotted the baby. Chan Ling said, “I felt broken-hearted and very concerned for the child. I hope the parents will realize their mistake for abandoning their child like that.” She asked her neighbors if they knew anything about the baby but they didn't, so her landlord call 911.
The baby was found with a diaper bag containing diapers and formula. A police canvas of the area to find the parents was unsuccessful. Another person who overheard the police talking told the Post that they "were saying it was a lady [who abandoned the child] and she left a piece of hair” in the car seat."
