The knife-wielding woman accused of chasing a 20-year-old woman and causing her to fall 14 stories to her death was arraigned in court yesterday on murder and manslaughter charges. Sienna Edwards was trying to deliver birthday presents to her boyfriend's cousin's child on Thursday night when 23-year-old Kenya Edmonds (the mother of that child) allegedly attacked her. Edwards was able to call 911, the boy's father Carl Purcell, and her boyfriend as she was being chased: “She sounded really frantic and afraid,” boyfriend Timothy Smith told The Post. “She was saying: ‘They have knives to my neck’...I heard one of the girls say: ‘You’re leaving here in a body bag.’ ”

Police say Edwards arrived at the 14th floor apartment at E 179 Street around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night, where Edmonds and two other women (including her sister) were present. Edwards called 911 soon after, and police said the dispatcher heard at least six threats against her on that call. Police believe Edwards was trying to jump to another building's balcony to escape her attackers when she fell.

“[Edmonds] was mad because Sienna came to her house for her baby’s father,” one of Edwards’ relatives told the Daily News. Purcell is barred by order of protection from entering Edmonds' home—and Edmonds lawyer says she was terrified when Edwards came into her home representing him. “This is not an open-and-shut case,” said lawyer Edward Shapiro.
