Two teenage boys are lucky to be alive after falling through the ice in Central Park Pond in the park's southeast corner this afternoon. As we reported earlier, the two teens were treated for hypothermia and are in stable condition, and the NYPD says two Parks workers who tried to rescue them were also treated for hypothermia. Now what appears to be a photo of the two youths, snapped minutes before they fell through, has been shared on Instagram.

Instagram user Glenn Halcomb says he took the photo between 1:50 p.m. and 2 p.m. According to the FDNY, the 911 call came through at 2:03 p.m.. Although Halcomb walked away and did not see the teens fall through, it seems likely that we're looking at them here, shortly before their near-death experience. When he uploaded the photo to Instagram, Halcomb preciently added these hashtags: "#centralpark #snow #ithinktheyarewalkingonfrozenpondandthatsdangerous." [Via Buzzfeed]
