Two Brooklyn men were beaten in the parking lot of MetLife Stadium yesterday when they apparently got into a confrontation with the driver of a "lowrider" Chevy Impala and his friends.
According to the Star-Ledger, Alfredo Lopez, 37, and his brother, Raymundo Lopez, 35 "were apparently walking through the parking lot after the match when they approached a group of men near a vehicle that [NJ State Police Sgt. Brian] Polite described as a 'low-rider.' The brothers tapped on the vehicle, urging the driver to use the car’s hydraulic system to make it 'bounce,' Polite said, but that led a group of five or six men to chase both victims through the parking lot."
Alfredo Lopez was repeatedly punched and hit on the head with a glass bottle; he is in critical condition while his brother was treated for "less serious" injuries. State police do not think the attack was related to the Mexico-Wales friendly match and describe the vehicle as an "older model" Royal Blue Chevy Impala "low rider" with tinted windows.
