For the third day in a row we are going to get a reminder that the Atlantic Ocean isn't too far away. The water temperature off lower Manhattan is in the mid 40s this morning, and it is in the lower 40s off Montauk. The cold water chills the air above it and a northeasterly breeze has been pushing that cold air over the city, holding our highs to the upper 40s the last two days.

This morning, however, the wind started coming out of the southeast as the high pressure system dominating our weather moves further offshore. That means warmer weather tomorrow, but today's cloud cover is going to keep us to the lower 50s this afternoon. The clouds are expected to last until tomorrow morning, but the skies should be sunny by the afternoon. Look for Saturday's high to reach the mid 60s. A light northeast wind will cool Easter Sunday a bit but with plenty of sun the high should wander up into the upper 50s.

Once we get past the weekend it looks like highs in the 60s all next week. The next chance of rain is next Tuesday, but it is too soon to tell with much certainty.
