That was fast. After people cried foul over a law firm flyer featuring a firefighter with a picture of the remains of the World Trade Center and the tag "I Was There. And Now, Worby Groner Edelman & Napoli Bern Is There For Me," the firm in question has pulled the ad with lots of apologies. Why? Besides being the tackiest thing we've seen since that anti-abortion billboard last month, the firefighter in the flyer was not actually there (in fact, he wasn't even a firefighter at the time).

"We issue a sincere and deep apology to Firefighter [Robert] Keiley and this ad will not run again," John Barker, president of the Barker/DZP ad agency, said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the ad certainly won't do anything to help the image for Worby Groner what with all the ill will it earned last year for its tremendous 9/11 legal fees.

Meanwhile, Keiley told the Post yesterday that he was incredibly upset the whole thing and was considering a lawsuit (though lawyers say he wouldn't have much to base it on as he signed a release). "I had friends who died on 9/11," he said. "How can I look their families in the eye if they see this picture, thinking I'm trying to make money on their [loved ones'] deaths? They'd probably think I'm a scumbag."

Also? He wasn't holding thet 9/11 picture when he was photographed for the ad last year (he was holding a helmet, the photo was Photoshopped in later).
