We're well into St. Patrick's Day Month here in the New York area—the season really kicked off with the ritual booing of the Bloomberg in the Rockaways—but tomorrow, Saturday the 16th, marks the height of the season when leprechauns from around the Tri-State area flow like so much vomit into the canyons of Manhattan to celebrate somebody's Irish heritage. Which is to say, you want to stay the hell away from LIRR and MetroNorth trains tomorrow. Don't believe us? We've got audio/visual evidence to back us up!

Each year Manhattan's St. Patrick's Day Parade pulls in thousands of revelers from all over. So many people flock to the parade (which starts this year at 11 a.m. at 44th Street and Fifth Avenue) using commuter rails that the MTA actually has extra inbound LIRR and "Metr O'North" (their name, not ours) trains. And though the MTA, as usual, is promising to do its best to keep the trains calm (translation: ABSOLUTELY NO BOOZE ALLOWED) it won't make a lick of difference. Each year amidst the haze of a serious St. Pat's hangover green-tinted videos start popping up of the previous day's railroad debauchery. In fact, it already began after last weekend's New Haven parade:

See what we mean? If you are even still contemplating riding the LIRR or MetroNorth tomorrow, perhaps you need to take a few minutes to watch the below videos and ask yourself: do you really hate your life so much as to subject yourself to this kind of crap IRL?

To start, let's look at last year's instant classic luggage rack racing incident:

And then there was this St. Patrick's train fight last year:

And also these inebriated folk on the LIRR last year:

And here's some riders cheering the exit of St. Patrick's Day fans on the LIRR in 2011:

And some serious early morning partying in 2010:

And finally a 2010 drunken MetroNorth fight in in 2010:

But if you absolutely MUST ride the rails tomorrow, here is the details on the extra service being added to the LIRR and MetroNorth.
