A 4-month-old girl was stabbed in the forehead with a pen when her mother and another woman got into a fight in the Bronx yesterday. The mom told police she was holding her daughter in her arms when the woman confronted her on E. 165th Street near Union Avenue just before 5 P.M. “The mother was desperate, kneeling next to the baby stroller. She was on her knees,” witness John Martinez told the Daily News.

In the midst of the women arguing, the attacker took out a pen and stabbed the baby once in the head. A bodega worker told the Post that when he heard the fight going on outside, he ran out and saw the baby bleeding and the mom running around crying. By the time police arrived, the suspect had fled the area. The baby was taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition; police are searching for the suspect, but are unsure whether the baby was the intended target of the attack.
