A 15-year-old girl was sentenced to up to six years in prison for the attempted murder of a 12-year-old boy who was slashed last year. The Post reports, "Carina Parache...admitted that she and the father of her daughter, Wayne Henderson, repeatedly stabbed Luis Martinez in the head, neck, legs, chest, hands and back after the boys had an argument about whether Martinez had a crush on her."
Martinez was found bleeding and wandering near the Jackie Robinson highway in January 2010; among his injuries were stab wounds to his left internal and right external jugular veins, which required reconstructive surgery. Parache, who was 14 at the time of the attack, "kicked Martinez in the head and face" while Henderson stabbed Martinez's face; Henderson then told Parache to stab him in the neck.
Parache apologized for her actions. Henderson, now 16 but was 15 during the attack, is awaiting trial.
