Aviation, marine bureau, police, and emergency services are searching for one person who remains unaccounted for after a small plane crashed into the water off Long Island. Three people have already been rescued from the downed plane.

ABC reports that the plane crashed into Port Jefferson Harbor in Suffolk County, 60 miles east of New York City, just after 11 p.m. on Saturday. Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Arlene Salac told the news network that the plane experienced engine trouble and made a "forced landing."

The plane had been reportedly traveling from Connecticut to MacArthur Airport at the time of the crash. The FAA is still investigating.

The three men rescued from the water following the crash were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital and "doing well," Newsday reports. “This remains an active search and rescue,” Suffolk Police Commissioner Tim Sini said during a news conference early Sunday morning.
