TheRockies didn't help their cause with some missed opportunities in the outfield. Carlos Beltran hit his 39th home run of the season, setting a career record and later in the game batted to chants of MVP from at least one Mets fan in attendance at Coors Field. Steve Trachsel pitched six innings and allowed three runs for his 14th win of the season.
- Cyclones 3, SI Yankees 2: The Cyclones came alive in the 8th inning of last night's game after rain caused a delay of more than an hour. The narrows the gap between the Cyclones and the league-leading Yankees to five games with nine games left to play. It was the final regular season game between the two teams.
- Yankees and US Open postponed due to rain. The Yankees will play a day-night doubleheader with the Tigers today.
