The underwear-hawking, reality show-loving Wahlbros are expanding their Wahlburgers chain from their hometown of Bahston to the Big Apple. Page Six gets word that Mark, Donnie and their chef brother Paul Wahlberg have sold franchise rights to John Cestare, the Big Apple Burgers operator who plans to open seven new burger locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Prepare yourselves for lots more Wahlbuns, NYC!
A deal has already been inked to open the first outpost on Coney Island on May 1st, with six more locations prepped for Manhattan. The reality show-based chain—which began as a one-off burger from a restaurant in Rochester—serves up Pat LaFrieda patties with plenty of toppings (Donnie likes the BBQ Bacon!) plus other sandwiches, salads and sides. The city definitely doesn't need yet another burger chain—seriously, it's like whack-a-mole up in here—but "Mark's Choice" Thanksgiving sandwich does sound pretty tasty (RIP Chat 'N Chew).
