Grand Forks food critic and internet meme Marilyn Hagerty was "on Cloud 9" yesterday as she spent another whirlwind day in NYC reviewing food, getting interviewed by the press, and dodging taxis. Taking a break from all the swanky restaurants, Hagerty visited Shake Shack in Times Square to see how the other half lives, and seemed pleased with their burger (she also indulged in some wine in a plastic cup). But as she says in the video diary below, she was not interested in going inside the bowling alley advertising a live snake.

Hagerty had an interview with Anderson Cooper today—hopefully she was able to not call him "Cooper Anderson," as she worried about in the video. Sadly, her adventures in NYC end soon, as she's leaving for Grand Forks later today. But perhaps it's time for Hagerty to go home, considering that her overwhelming overnight fame seems to be getting to her a bit.

Hagerty published a letter to her sister Shirley in The Grand Forks Herald today, detailing her rise to fame and the insanity surrounding the last week: "You see, here I was finishing up my Friday column last Thursday and getting ready to go to bridge club. Then the whole world went crazy." The funniest bit? Her description of the Village Voice, and continued confusion about what "going viral" means: "When the Village Tattler or whatever called from New York, I didn’t understand who they were. I didn’t understand that I had gone viral. I didn’t know that meant it was like hits on the Internet."

The...strangest part? The incredibly eerie post script—we honestly have no idea what to make of this: "P.S. This, too, shall pass. I soon will take my hammer named Margo and go down to the river. There I will meditate on the 15 years that have passed since the flood of 1997." Do all Midwesterners name their hammers?
