Airplane tantrums aren't just for disgruntled employees and Ivana Trump: a cranky vegetarian on a Newark-bound Continental Airlines flight yesterday became agitated when she was served the wrong in-flight food. So she decided to handle it the mature way, and write a complaint to the airline company threw her food tray at a flight attendant in the midst of a self-absorbed tempter tantrum.
The 30-year-old woman, who was not identified, starting freaking out somewhere between the Dominican Republic and Newark Airport. She complained that her meal wasn't vegetarian: "She said she was a vegetarian and she didn't like what she was being served. So she threw the food tray—and the food—at the attendant," said an airline official.
Let's just be clear: barring exceptional circumstances, there is absolutely no reason anyone should ever throw their food tray at a flight attendant mid-flight. Some people need to brush up on the 10 commandments of airplane etiquette. But let's be clear about another thing: this is in no way an indictment of vegetables. In fact, we'd jump up and down if you tossed us a carrot:
