If cheese doesn't account for at least one third of your winter caloric intake, you're not doing the season properly (booze is obviously the other two thirds). We've been helping you along best we can, but now there's a new heavy hitter here to help in the form of a Fondue Chalet that's popping up in Williamsburg. We can't get to the Alps on a blogging budget, so this is the closest we're getting to the Swiss tradition this season.
The Fondue Chalet has opened at 125 Berry Street, next to mothership Diviera Drive, Bedford + Bowery tells us. Inside, 40 seats at checkered tablecloths plus vintage ski posters on cozy wood walls, between which you can feast on the house fondue made with gruyere, raclette, white wine and "other cheeses." They're also doing a stand-alone raclette service; if you need a primer, see here.
There are veggies and salads and other non-cheese things on the menu (pffff) and each serving of fondue comes with bread, veggies and meats for dipping. The pop-up runs Tuesday through Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. through March.
