The Korean taco food trend died today, April 26, in Carrollton Texas. The popular fusion of tacos made with Korean fillings like bulgogi and kimchi first grew to prominence in Los Angeles, thanks to the mobile food vendor Kogi. The cause of death for the trend was over-saturation by chain restaurants.

As part of a plan to expand its menu items, flare-friendly fast casual restaurant T.G.I. Friday's announced today that it will be adding Korean Steak Tacos to its menu. In addition to the tacos, the restaurant also announced 16 other new dishes, including a stab at another recent food trend, craft beer, with a "Spicy Craft Beer Cheese Burger" (the better to pair with your "Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer Cheese Dipping Sauce").

Though zombie Korean tacos will continue to grace American stomachs for years to come, early adopters across the land held a moment of silence this afternoon in honor of the dead trend. Hope springs eternal though: we hear that Mexican dim sum is the next hot thing.
