The tiny wine bar empire known as Terroir suffered another blow this week with news that the Murray Hill outpost will close its doors this weekend. The bar Tweeted the news yesterday, saying that they'll be open for service through Saturday for some last pours of vino and servings of cheese plates.
The eatery wasn't specific about what caused the shutter, but Paul Grieco told Grub Street that "restaurants do not survive on fumes," hinting that business hadn't been great. "With each passing day, this city is getting harder and harder to navigate," Grieco concluded.
Grieco and his original Terroir business partner Marco Canora parted ways late last year, with the latter closing the original Terroir and transforming it into a new restaurant. While Canora builds his bone broth fortune, Grieco will continue to run Terroir's two other locations in Tribeca and the seasonal High Line spot.
