Yesterday, we informed you that Astoria bar Rocky McBride's was serving special sugary Peeptinis and Blue Cottontails in honor of Easter weekend. One reader, former Gothamist intern Max Rosenbaum, was so intrigued by this drink he decided to swing by Rocky McBride's last night and sample one for himself.

He reported the following:

The peepdaquiri [a blended version of the Peeptini] is a small, less sweet drink. It has a yellow peep and another peep blended into the drink (the alcohol dissolves the marshmellow in the blender making it easy to clean); it also has a puff of whipped cream that reminds you how subtle the rest is. The peeptini on the other hand is much sweeter—it has a red sugar coating the glass like margarita salt and a red/pink peep skewered by a coffee stirrer. It is much sweeter and is definitely hangover material. The peeptini also tasted much more alcoholic. Overall, both are really only for the ladies but the peeptini even more so. Jenna [Maretti], the creator of the drink is surprised at their popularity, going as far as to wonder why, if this drink is so popular, she even went to grad school at all.

Rocky McBride's will be serving this saccharine concoction all weekend; stop by and suffer the holiday sugar hangover for yourself!
