If you love burgers and you love freedom then you'll want to pay close attention to the following details. In celebration of its first Manhattan restaurant, flat burger purveyor Smashburger will be offering up gratis patties to customers on opening day next Thursday. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Denver-based chain will give away one Classic Smashburger to each customer that visits the store on April 10th. You're on your own for the PB&J milkshake.
For those who haven't visited the Brooklyn outpost, the burger chain "smashes" its burgers on the flatop, giving the patties a nice crunchy crust. Their special Manhattan-centric offering will be the New Yorker, with New York Cheddar cheese, garlic grilled onions, spinach, tomato and peppercorn garlic aioli on a brioche bun. Non-beef offerings include Smashchicken sandwiches topped with spicy jalapeno baja or spinach, cucumber and goat cheese; and salads like Harvest (cranberries and pumpkin seeds) and a Classic Cob, though why you'd got to a burger chain for greens is beyond me.
Their sweet potato fries do look pretty dope.
Smashburger opens at 10 a.m. on April 10th // 10 West 33rd Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues
