But it beats out its nearby competitors in the all important arena of price basically every time (we're looking at you, nearby Foragers). If you are looking to hit up a salad bar in DUMBO, this would be the one to bet on. Pro tip? Plan on a wait around noon, it can get seriously crowded when the nearby workers descend.

68 Jay Street, between Water and Front Streets, 718-488-1993
(Garth Johnston/Gothamist)
Pedro's: Though there are seats (and a bar) at this burrito and taco joint, the restaurant is more than happy to give you your grub to go. And if you want to stay the place is bright (as in brightly colored), the ambiance is lively (if bar-like), the lunchtime service is swift and the tacos ($2.50) and tostadas ($4) and burritos ($8) are cheap and filling. For those looking for the standards served just about the way you'd expect them, you've found your lunch spot.

73 Jay Street, at Front Street, 718-625-0031

reBar: This gastropub's eat-in-only lunch special is hard to top in this surprisingly pricey neighborhood. For $8, tax included, you can get a sandwich (i.e. a burger, pulled pork, vegan, chicken and brie), fries, slaw, salad and unlimited soda. Of course, once you've gotten such a good deal and agreed to sit down for your lunch it is going to be hard to ignore that awesome beer list, but we think you can do it.

147 Front Street, 718-766-9110

Really?" But stick with 'em, the fresh and (when possible) locally procured food on that menu is totally worth it. We've been known to devour the chicken sandwich and fries (how you like the fries depends on your opinion of shoestring fries), but we've also had good luck with some of their other sandwich options. And, if you need to kill an hour or two in the neighborhood, the bar and pool table are generally lively.

126 Front Street, 718-243-9005
