Expect a reliably thick, chewy crust topped with a well seasoned standard tomato sauce. And considering you are in the Financial District, two slices and a 16 oz. soda for $5.50 is a pretty good deal.

3 Hanover Square, 212-425-4442
(TheLunchBelle's flickr)
Urban Lobster Shack: Sometimes you want a little New England in your lunch, and those times this lobster shack is there for you (and soon enough Luke's Lobster will be too). Don't expect to have anywhere to sit as this really is a hole-in-the-wall, but you can expect a surprisingly large portion of lobster in a buttered bun with salad and coleslaw for $10, and that's not bad at all ($14 if you get it delivered).

15 Stone Street, 212-809-2626

And the outdoor seating is a real boon as the weather gets warmer. Also, if you or your lunch companion isn't in the mood for beef, the veggie burger ain't bad (and the restaurant's sibling Pizza Pizza is just down the block).

77 Pearl Street, 212-269-9100
(Rachel A. on Yelp)
Cipriani Wall Street: You don't go to Cipriani restaurants for the foodâyou go to pay through the nose and enjoy a very particular scene. But what a scene. So, again, don't worry about the food and enjoy the stunning space, the former Merchantâs Exchange, the attentive service, and the curious crowd. Is it nice out? Try and sit in the lovely outdoor area. Not really up for paying through the nose? Luckily for those of us on a budget, there is a $24.07 lunchtime prix fixe available. But we think you'll do better with a liquid lunch...

55 Wall Street, 212-699-4096
