The Alchemy Creamery specializes in "a blend of vegan ice creams that play on the mystical elements of food & imagination... Alchemy Creamery aims to be an adventure & sensory experience in the edible." That beaker there is artisanal caramel that gets poured over your vegan ice cream after you order it. They also have push-pops if you're feeling fancy!
A tad crowded.
Delicious fried anchovies ($7) from Bon Chovie, which has expanded its menu to include salmon burgers and cornmeal-crusted cod burgers ($10).
A small-batch preserves company founded by Laena McCarthy in 2009, Anarchy in a Jar makes over 16 varieties of shelf-stable jam, jelly, marmalade, chutney and pickled fruit.
A shrimps roll and an asparagus roll from Best Summer; 2 for $6 (or 3 for $8). Both of these were very fresh.
As every Smorgasburger knows, the free samples are what it's all about. And don't worry, everyone who stuck their fingers in there before you has impeccable hygiene.
The Brooklyn Wok Shop is another newcomer to Smorgasburg this year, and their Crab Rangoon ($7) is highly recommendable if you like food that tastes like the sea and a spicy chili sauce to dip it in.
