The "infamous" Ice Luge of LoveLaid Night: "Ladies Nights" are so 2000-late; these days it's all about "Laid" Nights, at least at the Sunburnt Cow, which has sent out a press release announcing that the East Village barstaurant "has one mission this summerâto get you laid!" That's right, stop throwing your money away at those other bars whose only mission is to sell you more alcoholâat the Sunburnt Cow, Thursday nights are all about "you" and your sexual gratification. And how do they plan to facilitate your all-important coitus? A retractable roof and "free shots on the infamous 'Ice Luge of Love'." Better drop off the kids with your ex for the night! And once you've met that perfect adequate stranger who meets your high qualifications for a night of drunken, empty intercourse, the Sunburnt Cow will send you off into the night prepared. According to the release, "the Cow has partnered with NYC Health to give away free NYC condoms and lubricant." The laying starts this Thursday June 23rd and continues on every Thursday night until everybody gets laid. 137 Avenue C, (212) 529-0005
Bradley Hawks

Drink Shrubs: "Shrubbery!" is something that you yell in a high-pitched British accent in your junior high cafeteria (or even in your cubicle as an adult, that's okay too). But shrubs, we are told, are non-alcoholic drinks made with a syrup of fruit-infused vinegar, and soda water. These cordials were apparently popular in Colonial times, when all it took for our founding fathers to be happy was a mocktail and a phat bowl packed by Martha Washington. They've been serving shrubs At Russ and Daughters on the LES for a few months now, and WNYC reports that "people are almost addicted to it." Now shrubs have arrived in Queens.

Astoria restaurant The Queens Kickshaw (which you may remember for what was arguably the greatest grilled cheese food porn shot the Internet's ever seen) is offering two varieties at the moment: Blueberry infused with ginger and lemon rind; Golden Raisin infused with cinnamon and star anise. All infusions are made in-house, and are mixed with seltzer water off of a vintage soda fountain. $3.50 a pop.

40-17 Broadway, Astoria, Queens; (718) 777-0913
DML East Branch on FlickrPoetry of Food: If you work downtown around the World Financial Center, this seems like a perfect lunchtime first date opportunity for that cute little number in accounting you've had your eye on. On Thursday June 23rd, poet Elaine Equi, whose work has appeared in The New Yorker and The Nation, will "share poems inspired by our degustation." The "Poetry of Food" is free and part of the River to River Festival; we're told this "food-specific poetry reading" will "stimulate your creative side." It's a perfect location to wax poetic about food, what with the World Financial Center Greenmarket and Fatty Snack right there. And as the "Laid Single Night" at Sunburnt Cow is the same day, maybe follow up the highbrow lunch date with a little "Ice Luge of Love" after work.12:30 p.m., World Financial Center Greenmarket
