Eat Cetera: Fatty Crab's Anniversary, Stinky Cheese Festival, Texas Independence Day

<em><a href="http://colormekatie.blogspot.com">Katie Sokoler</a>/Gothamist</em><p></p><strong>Fatty Crab:</strong> For their one year anniversary tomorrow, <a href="http://gothamist.com/2009/03/05/despite_lean_times_the_uws_gets_fat.php">Fatty Crab</a> Upper West Side is hosting a "Taste of Fatty Crew," a tasting party with samples from both Fatty Crab locations, Fatty 'Cue and Cabrito. Each restaurant will be serving three dishes, two cocktails and tastings of eight different wines. The food will be passed out on trays along with pairing cards listing suggested cocktails, and the chefs and managers from each location will also be around to discuss the food, drinks, or just to answer your questions. Around 9:30, the event will segue into an "invite-only anniversary bash," but if you've bought tickets to the "Taste of Fatty Crew," you're automatically on the guest list. <em>Limburger Steak Hache at Nice Martin</em><p></p><strong>Stinky Cheese Festival:</strong> Even though winter is hopefully going to be taking its leave soon, it's still going to linger around long enough for the <a href="http://www.tourdefrancenyc.com/">Third Annual Stinky Cheese Festival</a>. From March 3-12, nine restaurants under the Culinary Tour De France restaurant group (including Café DâAlsace and French Roast) will be offering Winter Cheese Festival menus during their lunch and dinner services. Dishes include Nice Martin's Limburger Steak Hache and Marseilleâs Alsatian Muenster Short Rib and potato tart. All entrees range from $8-$24.
<strong>Texas Independence Day:</strong> In case you don't already have plans for celebrating the day Texas broke away from Mexico, here you go. Today and tonight, <a href="http://www.hillcountryny.com/">Hill Country</a> will be serving up a pit-smoked whole hog, a Texas Pralines nâ Cream cupcake, the "Longhorn" cocktail for $8, $20 pitchers of margaritas and six-packs of Lone Star and an all day happy-hour.
