A pajama-clad thief was caught on camera robbing a Brooklyn cafe of its tip jar. On the evening of Monday, January 5th, a man wearing star patterned pajama pants, gloves and a beanie walked up to the counter of Bensonhurst bakery Audrey's Concerto to order a drink. While the employee was preparing the beverage, the thief nabbed a tip jar placed near the shop's register.
Owner Audrey Mak tells us the man initially grabbed the store's business card holder and stuffed it in his hoodie pocket. Realizing his error, he then went back for the tip jar, which he placed in a large Dunkin Donuts shopping bag he had with him. As the employee approaches just after the grab, the thief inexplicably offers him a boxed Dunkin Donuts doughnut, which may or may not be their Croissant Donut.

Customers in the cafe at the time were the ones who alerted the staff to the robbery, which led to the review of the security footage. "We don't know who that person was...we kind of recognize him, he's around this neighborhood," Mak says. "But it's not someone who we know..." All together, the man took around $20 from the jar.
Last summer, another man was caught on camera relieving a Hamilton Heights coffee shop of their tip jar.
