If you've ever wondered how the city can support so many frozen yogurt places (seriously, another 16 Handles?) we may have an answer for you. Their continued existence may not just be due to dieting ladies and tween girls! If this dating data is true you can blame some of the popularity on mingling singles.
According to the "one million dates" survey from dating website How About We (which, full disclosure, advertises on Gothamist but had nothing to do with our decision to run this post) the most popular food choice, besides "other," for their sample of singles is frozen yogurt followed by tacos, ice cream and food trucks (in LA the top eat was pizza). Of course these are the same people whose top dating activities are board games, dancing, bowling, biking and running—so take this data as you will!
Meanwhile, in case you were wondering where the kids are going on dates these days, the top five locations in town are apparently the High Line, Central Park, the Met, Brooklyn Brewery and Brooklyn Bowl. Wait, no Staten Island Ferry? But you can buy beer there and Bloomberg endorses it!
