Foie gras, what can't you put it in? Despite the fury the fatty liver often incites, foodies love the stuff. And since we've seen the doughnuts, we really shouldn't be surprised it is popping up in sushi. Everybody, say hello to the latest French import to our shores, SushiShop.

The first American outpost of the chain—it has 90 shops in Europe—opens in a two-story space in Midtown tomorrow. And, like its siblings, this one will offer 150 different kinds of maki-style rolls, hand rolls, spring rolls and sashimi plates. Included in there is, yes, foie gras sushi (not to mention a slew of fish tartares). Rolls are "are $4.50 to $11.75 for six pieces; individual sushi is $2.50 to $6, and assortments range from $18 to $79.50." You can see a preliminary English-language menu here.

Honestly, we aren't surprised that the French would be the ones to combine the delicacy with rice and seaweed, though we are glad to know it isn't the only spot in the city offering it. You can also find the stuff at GalleryBar in the LES (well, if you get a catered meal there) and at Hakata Tonton in the West Village.
