Mission Chinese Food, where you come for the thrice-cooked bacon and tolerate the occasional dead mouse cesspool, is set to reopen in a new LES location. Chef Danny Bowien tweeted a lovely family photo this week in front of the just-shuttered Rosette space at 171 E Broadway.

Eater reports that Rosette had gotten "an offer for the space that's too good to pass up" and would close up shop after last night's dinner service, and now we know why. Bowien, it appears, applied for a liquor license under a pseudonym and will move Mission Chinese there from its old Orchard Street spot, which was forced to close last October after the DOH found a "severe mouse infestation."

No details of a (re)opening date are available just yet (Bowien's tweet reads only, "fall preview...."), but let's hope that whole mouse cesspool thing has been left behind.
