Last year, the Sex and the City tour dropped Magnolia Bakery from its route...and we guess they missed the attention? Because the constantly expanding bakery has gone and hopped onto last season's bandwagon, Black Swan, for a new cupcake. Okay, technically they've teamed up with the American Ballet Theatre for a Swan Lake promotional cupcake, but do such minor details really matter to your average cupcake craving cop?

Magnolia says it was "inspired by the beloved ballet’s White Swan and Black Swan pas de deux" but it seems more likely they were inspired by that scintillating scene between Academy Award-winner Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, above, from Darren Aronofsky's movie.

So why exactly has Magnolia dropped this new cupcake version of the black-and-white cookie? ABT, whose Swan Lake runs from June 27—July 2, is sponsoring it. Luckily the $3.50 cupcake, apparently "a rich chocolate cupcake, topped with luscious chocolate and whipped vanilla icing, delicately crafted in the Magnolia swirl," doesn't sound too bad—if cupcakes are your thing.
