After less than a year serving cream puffs and kringle to the stroller set, Leske's Bakery in Park Slope has closed. Here's Park Slope reports that the bakery's second Brooklyn location closed on December 27th due to "rising costs," according to signage on the door.

HSP notes that the location on 5th Avenue has been home to some bakery or another pretty much forever, and owners of Leske's are "evaluating" whether they'll reopen the Park Slope outpost.

Meanwhile, fans of peanut butter and jelly doughnuts can trek to the bakery's original Bay Ridge location. Who knows, now that he's retired, you may have to battle Marty Markowitz for the last Black and White cookie.
