Jimmy Buffett is moving in on Charlie Sheen's territory. Margaritaville Enterprises LLC, which is owned by the singer, filed an application with the US Patent Office earlier this month to trademark the term "Tiger Blood" for vodka (application serial #85265306) and energy drinks (#85265307—should Four Loko be worried?). But it isn't just Buffett, the crooner's application isn't even close to being the only Tiger Blood trademark to hit the Patent Office in recent weeks. And not one of the others seems to be from Sheen's camp—not that he really needs the money.
The Patent office has been awash with Tiger Blood of late. Also in the mix with Margaritaville (in reverse order of their applications) is the woman who on March 12 filed a trademark application from Long Island City for Tiger Blood TV which will provide "a website for entertainment purposes where users can view and post audio, video, prose and images featuring content related to news, cultural events, pop-culture, arts, music, comedy and sports" (#85265512).
On March 10 a guy in Glendale put in an application for hoodies, t-shirts and long-sleeved shirts (#85263191). And don't get that confused with the more general clothing Tiger Blood application out of Chicago (#85259105).
But when you think of Tiger Blood you think of drinks, right? According to TMZ "Tiger Blood is Charlie Sheen’s codename for his mangosteen-infused fruit smoothie, Xango juice." Well how about an application for TigerBlood that includes "Beauty beverages, namely, fruit juices and energy drinks containing nutritional supplements; Concentrates and powders used in the preparation of energy drinks and fruit-flavored beverages; Concentrates, syrups or powders used in the preparation of sports and energy drinks; Energy drinks; Non-alcoholic drinks, namely, energy shots; Sports drinks, namely, energy drinks" (#85261365)? Would you be interested in Tiger Blood nutritional supplements (#85260975)? Or Tiger Blood dietary supplements (#85259989)? Or maybe supplements that specificaly "relieve or prevent fatigue" (#85259187)? Nah, you probably just want Tiger Blood caffeine pills (#85256414).
Us? We're about ready to retire the whole Tiger Blood meme entirely. Cause if Bloomberg is joking about it...
