The NY Historical Society's "Superheroes In Gotham" exhibit closes tomorrow, but Captain America and friends will be back in town soon enough, in a way. Ippudo, one of our favorite ramen spots in the city, is hosted a Marvel Comics pop-up next Thursday and Friday, so you can feast on your favorite Avengers. Or something
As first reported by Grub Street, Ippudo's West 51st Street location will whip up "Avengers Interactive Ramen" at 5 p.m. in its "secret second floor Ramen Bar" on those days, with ramen dishes using ingredients that tie in to personalities matching, say, Iron Man or The Hulk. That bowl of superhero ramen also nets you a beverage pairing and a commemorative T-shirt designed by Marvel artist Matthew Waite.
The bad news is, Ippudo Ramen Master Fumihiro Kanegae will only make 40 bowls of the good stuff each day, and chances are you'll have to wait on line for a small lifetime to get a spot. Though if you're already an Ippudo fan, you're probably used to losing daylight hours to the line, so perhaps it's just par for the course.
