AvroKO, the aesthetically pleasing hospitality group that runs Saxon + Parole and Madam Geneva, has replaced The Monday Room—a wine bar next to their Elizabeth Street restaurant Public—with The Daily, now serving inventive bar food and fancy cocktails. As you can see, it's a cozy space with an atavistic vibe evoking classic New York meeting houses. Walnut paneling abounds, and there are plenty of leather banquets to complete the clubby feel.

True to its name, the food and beverage menu changes every day. Michelin-starred chef Brad Farmerie does a rotating menu with variations on classic bar snacks. Every day there's one dish from each of the following groups: Nuts, Olives, Veggies, Fish, Meat, Cheese, and Sweets. Some days you can try an order of fried whitebait with lemon tartar sauce (called "Fries with eyes"), served up in a newspaper cone and basket. On other days you might find the "Pig's Head Banh Mi," seen here, which boasts several different kinds of pork—including crispy pork belly and pig's ears. ($13)

You can check out the daily cocktail menu on The Daily Facebook page. The rotating roster of six drinks, created by AvroKO cocktail director Naren Young, are categorized as Stirred & Down, Frothy, Bubbly, Martini, Long, and one ‘Bottled’ cocktail for two—today it's "Remember the Maine," made with Rye, vermouth, cherry, absinthe ($28).
