Judging by the state of Bedford Avenue last weekend, the L train shutdown did little to dissuade the masses from descending on Williamsburg like locusts drawn by the scent of fried cheese curds and paydays. But beginning Saturday and continuing through the L train's weekend vacations, there'll be a simple way to make it to Smorgasburg from Manhattan on Saturdays, now that the shuttle bus dreams of market vendor Big Mozz have been realized. The team has successfully initiated a Bus To Smorg program that'll shuttle would-be market goers to and from the Williamsburg outpost with a little liquid incentive to ease their passage.

Travel startup company Skedaddle will be coordinating the wheels that will ferry passengers from Union Square to Williamsburg and back again. The bus service will depart from the Brother Jimmy's on East 16th between Irving and Park Avenue starting at 11 a.m. then running approximately every 45 minutes after that. A one way ticket costs a modest $5 while a round trip goes for $8; the BBQ joint will also offer a 15% discount on drinks at the bar while Smorg-bound travelers await the next bus.

Pricing for the bus turned out to be less than initially thought, and while it's not the same as a free beer, that discount should put a helpful dent in a $24 fishbowl of booze. Also on the plus side: avoiding Uber! If you're interested in hopping aboard, RSVP here.
