The Game of Thrones premiere is still three months away and your sister changed her Netflix password, so there's not much to do in these dark wintry months other than stuff your face with bodega snacks. Rice Krispie treats can only keep you full for so long, but there are still a few food events that'll help line your stomach this week. Here's where to feast:
On Tuesday, Rocco's Tacos and Tequila Bar in Brooklyn Heights is kicking off its first Taco & Tequila Tuesday event, where you can score AYCE tacos for only $15.99. The weekly deal also features a number of drink specials, including $5 tequila drinks and shots, $15 margarita pitchers, $6 vodka drinks, and $3 Mexican beers. You can make a reservation through the restaurant.
Caffeine fiends should head to the American Museum of Natural History on Wednesday for Culture Salon coffee tasting. Stumptown Coffee teaching and education head Nick Kirby will highlight coffee culinary history and teach you roasting and brewing techniques. There'll also be Stumptown samples available, along with chocolates, fruits, teas, and honeys for pairings. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and costs $40 to attend; purchase a ticket online.
Two events round out the week on Friday. First, Midtown eatery Untamed Sandwiches is throwing its monthly Braises & Brews dinner, pairing five courses of slow-cooked fare with beer from Single Cut Beersmiths. The $65-per-person dinner runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.; make a reservation through the restaurant.
Also on Friday, Incognito Bistro in Chelsea is hosting its annual Burns Night to celebrate all things Scottish. The Incognito crew are actually Scottish Italians, and they'll be feting their heritage with Scotch whisky, tartan plaid and a whole lot of haggis. Make a reservation through the restaurant.
