Cops are searching for a man who brazenly robbed a Greenpoint Dunkin' Donuts this week and escaped unscathed, with a pile of cash (though strangely, no crullers). The crime took place on Monday shortly before 9:30 p.m. at the DD on McGuinness Boulevard near the Pulaski Bridge. A man "approached the counter, pulled a black handgun, ordered the cashier to open the register, grabbed an undetermined amount of money from it and fled in a black car," according to police. No one was injured.
The cops describe the man as being in his late 20s, Hispanic, about five-foot-nine, wearing a Yankees cap, black sweatshirt, black vest, grey sweatpants and white sneakers. They are asking anyone with information to contact the Department's Crime Stoppers. Interestingly, this is the same DD that was robbed in September, in a similar fashion—please, Greenpoint, please help find these criminals, before they discover Peter Pan Donuts.
