mscottsbarro.jpegThe pizzeria chain Sbarro is offering up a free slice at some of its stores today—and even if New York City is short on malls, it's not short on this mall staple. Just print out this coupon (PDF) and bring it to one of these locations, for what Michael Scott once declared to be "a real New York slice!" But note, this is for their new "skinny" pizza, which "only" packs 270 calories per slice.

  • 34th Street
  • 5th Avenue and 46th Street
  • 33rd Street and 7th Avenue
  • 701 7th Avenue at 47th Street
  • 49th And Broadway (Is this is the one that the Fat Boys visited in their "All You Can Eat" video?)
  • Queens Center in Rego Park
  • Staten Island Mall

As for it being a "real New York slice," Sbarro does have its roots in New York City. It was founded Gennaro and Carmela Sbarro, who immigrated here from Naples, Italy in 1956. They first opened a Salumeria at 1701 65th Street in Bensonhurst, which was followed by Sbarro Italian Delicatessen (also in Brooklyn). It wasn't until 1970 that Sbarro opened its first mall-based restaurant, which was located in Brooklyn's Kings Plaza Shopping Center. [via Reddit]
