Want a foraged meal for free in Brooklyn? Issue Project Room is offering up seats to an odd and mysterious dinner party on February 4th. They say, "Seated with us at the table are our fellow humans, plants, mushrooms, bacteria and other animals... some of these visitors eat and some are eaten." We're pretty sure they don't mean this in a Hannibal Lecter way.
They promise a mid-winter feast that will be foraged straight from Brooklyn, featuring local plants and animals "in unique preparations and one-of-a kind settings. The meal will be free and we ask in return a lively willingness to be in cahoots with the questions of eating, foraging, community and our multi-species commons."
It's all so very confusing! We reached out to IPJ for some hints at what might be served (Canada goose?), and will update if they give us any hints. But since this is all about experimenting, we'd warn picky eaters to stay at home, and for the love of Edesia, everyone stay away from the Gowanus shrimp cocktail.
