In case the LA Burrito franchise isn't enough Mission-style Mexican food for you, burrito chainlet Dos Toros Tacqueria will be opening an outpost on Bedford Ave next month. The company is run by San Francisco native and former Third Eye Blind bassist Leo Kremer and his brother Oliver; they've got three other locations in Manhattan, and, of course, they specialize in serving locally-sourced sustainable and organic burritos, tacos and quesadillas—you can check out their menu here.
The new joint will be located at 189 Bedford Avenue, in place of Turkish joint Saksura, which shuttered last year. In addition to cheap tacos and the like, they'll also be offering a selection of Mexican beer, and since Brooklyn's its own animal, a spokeswoman for Dos Toros tells us they hope to serve some local beer as well. Earlier, the owners said the spot would be opening in January, but since that month has come and gone, we've been told it'll actually open the first week of April. Kremer and his brother made a short music video promoting the company a while, so feel free to watch that, although we have viewed it a few times and found it lacking in Stephan Jenkins cameos, grunge sadness and references to crystal meth addiction.
