Two people have been sent to the hospital with burns after a propane tank exploded in the Frites 'n' Meats food truck, which today was parked on the West Side Highway. The truck reportedly hit another vehicle, and the explosion caused two to be hospitalized with non-life threatening burns. The truck is run by brothers Hiassam, Mohamed and Ali Beydoun, and one behind the Twitter account recently wrote, "If anyone has any info on my brothers location or status please call me."
The victims, which one woman says are the brothers, were reportedly taken to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and firefighters are in the process of removing other propane tanks from the truck. But of course, no terrifying fire is complete without bike lane drama! One witness wrote on Twitter, "it bothers me that one of the responding fire trucks got caught on the plantings in the bike lane while responding to the call."
