If today's sunshine and Claritin-ready bloom isn't enough of an indicator that summer is crawling ever closer towards us, Park Slope beer mecca Bierkraft is blessing warm weather-ready customers with an oyster shuck-and-cast fest this weekend.

Starting at noon today, the brew shop's backyard beer garden will be turned into a makeshift oyster factory, complete with freshly-shucked shells and a whole collection of Bierkraft's best beers. Expect casks of local craft beers like Kelso barrel-aged Brett IPA, Peekskill Shotgun Willie Rye IPA and Brooklyn English-Style Bitter; the event runs during Bierkraft's normal business hours through tomorrow night, and admission is totally free, but be prepared to pay for brews and oysters and you go.

Bierkraft is located at 191 Fifth Ave between Berkeley Place and Sackett Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn (718-230-7600, bierkraft.com). Note: Bierkraft's phones aren't working right now.
