Working in a busy restaurant kitchen can get pretty stressful, so it's important to keep things lighthearted by cracking jokes and stuffing dumplings into your pants to enlarge your groin area. According to a sexual harassment lawsuit filed in a Brooklyn Federal Court by a former bartender at east side restaurant Chin Chin, kitchen employees routinely stuffed dumplings "in their crotch areas making it look like they had big penises." And after dabbing away their tears of laughter, "kitchen employees would with no hesitation prepare food to be served to the customers from the very same dumplings that they used to make penises," the lawsuit alleges.
The plaintiff, Yvonne Diaz, claims she was constantly harassed by her sexist co-workers, who would regularly gather in the kitchen on Sunday nights to watch pornography "without exception." One worker allegedly pushed his "erected penis" into her "buttocks area," while others repeatedly approached her while holding oranges to their chests and saying: "Nay Nays; Nay Nays is very good." (Anyone know what that means?)
Gregarious owner Jimmy Chin is also accused of bragging about overcharging Sean "Diddy" Combs for a bathroom mirror that broke during a taping of "Making the Band." And according to a copy of the lawsuit obtained by the Daily News, co-workers made sexist remarks about singer Jennifer Lopez’s body when she visited the restaurant. Chin tells the Post the lawsuit is "frivolous” and “ridiculous nonsense."
For what it's worth, in a 2010 NY Times review of Chin Chin, critic Sam Sifton raved that one of the menu's "highlights" is the "pork dumplings fried golden on one side." What he didn't mention is that you should never eat the side that isn't golden. Because it's blackened with pubes. A lawsuit alleges. Sorry.
