The Polar Vortex will make its much-maligned return this week after blessedly disappearing for a few days, so now's as good a time as any to eat yourself a new cardigan! Here's where to do it, or check out one of the many NYC Beer Week events going on this week.

If you've had enough of barley and hops, on Monday, Terroir in Murray Hill is hosting a Wine 101 event with reputed sommelier Richard Betts, author of The Essential Scratch & Sniff Guide to Becoming a Wine Expert. A $30 ticket gets you access to Betts' 60 minute talk and a tasting of six wines; the event kicks off at 7 p.m. and you can purchase tickets online.

Also on Monday, the folks at Otto Enoteca e Pizzeria in Greenwich Village are hosting a fundraiser for Babbo pastry chef Gina de Parma, who had to leave her post last year after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. For $100, you'll be treated to unlimited antipasti, pasta, and pizza, in addition to beer and wine; if you opt for the $200 "Black Truffle Pizza" ticket, you can get your hands on a tasty black truffle pizza too, and there will also be a silent auction of cakes crafted by city pastry chefs to help with de Parma's medical expenses. Purchase your ticket online.

Head to Schnipper's new Midtown location on Tuesday, where they're offering some of their American fare for a mere $2-a-pop. You can score goodies like cheeseburgers, sweet potato fries, burgers and chicken clubs for only a couple bucks, plus starting at 4 p.m. PBR will be available for $2 as well. The deal runs all day.

And on Thursday, SoHo NYC Beer Week brewery 508 GastroBrewery is hosting a ChocoBrewVana: The Choco-Licious Beer Dinner event. Each of the dinner's six-courses combines both chocolate and a special 508 brew, with dishes including Jumbo Sea Scallop Ceviche with chocolate dusted tostones, a chocolate sorbet float and spare rib sliders with Mexican chocolate BBQ sauce. The dinner kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and costs $80-per-person; you can purchase your tickets online.
